Classic Georgian tkemali can be prepared from a variety of types of plums and cherry plums. Red cherry plum gives the sauce an incredibly appetizing shade. It has a pleasant sour and savory taste, and it is great for meat, chicken, potatoes, and almost any other dishes.
Ingredients
- Cherry Plum (red) – 1 kg
- Hot red pepper - 2 pieces
- Cilantro - 1 bundle
- Hop-suneli - 1 tbsp.l .
- Salt - 1 art.l.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.l.
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 art.l.
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Water - 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Add water to the cherry plum, boil it for 20 minutes and rub it through a sieve.
Grind pepper, garlic and cilantro in a blender.
Add all the ingredients to the cherry plum.
Bring the tkemali to a boil, boil for another 7 minutes and roll it into sterilized jars.
