Why buy store-bought sauces if you can stock up on homemade preparations during the season? It is healthy, tasty and economically profitable. Apple and tomato sauce will perfectly complement fish and meat dishes in winter, it can be added to pizza or served with pasta.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash the tomatoes, cut them into 6-8 pieces and place them in a cooking pot. Add 50 ml of water, bring to a boil and cook over low heat, stirring, for 30 minutes.

Rub the boiled tomato mass through a sieve to get rid of the skin and seeds.

Peel the apples from the skin and cores, cut into slices.

Finely chop onion, garlic and chili pepper.

Combine the prepared apples and vegetables in a deep frying pan, pour tomato juice, bring to a boil and cook over low heat, stirring, for 20 minutes.

Add salt and sugar.

Mash the workpiece with an immersion blender. Then bring to a boil again, add ground pepper and boil for another 5 minutes.

Pour the boiling sauce of apples and tomatoes into pre-sterilized jars and roll up. Turn the jars upside down, wrap them up and leave them to cool completely. Store the cooled sauce in a cool, dark place.
