Multicolored dumplings with minced chicken

Persuading children to have lunch is a very difficult task. Let's turn the meal into a fun game and serve unusual colorful dumplings on the table. Do not worry, only natural dyes are used in the recipe, and for the filling you will need ordinary chicken minced meat.


For Dough:
  • Flour - 500 g
  • Salt - 0,5 tsp.
  • Water (warm) – 1 glass
  • Butter - 60 g

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Sift the flour into a wide bowl, collect it with a slide and make a small recess.

Add warm water, salt and knead the plastic dough. Cover with a towel and set aside for 15 minutes.

Grate the beetroot on a fine grater, chop the spinach in a blender.

Divide the water into three equal parts. Add beetroot to one, turmeric to the other, and spinach to the third.

Strain the resulting solutions through gauze to remove solid particles.

Peel the onion from the husk and finely chop.

Mix the minced meat, onion, salt and ground black pepper.

Divide the dough into three equal parts. Add colored liquid to each one and knead until uniform color.

Form sausages, cut into pieces and roll out thin tortillas with a rolling pin.

Put a little filling in the middle, seal the dough tightly and connect the opposite edges. Repeat the steps with the rest of the dough and filling.

Boil water, add salt and dumplings of the same color. Cook for 8 minutes after boiling.

Flip the dumplings into a colander and leave to drain for 3-4 minutes. Add a third of the butter and mix.

Cook the remaining two colors of dumplings in fresh water according to the same principle. This is necessary so that the dumplings do not turn into other shades.
