There is no cabbage in the traditional Russian pickle. Usually these are pickles, brine, cereals and root vegetables. But why not experiment with other familiar vegetables? Moreover, it turns out very tasty and satisfying!
Ingredients
- Meat broth - 3 l
- Cabbage - 0.5 head
- Potatoes - 3 pieces
- Pearl barley - 80 g
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Cucumbers (salty) – 4 pieces
- Greenery (chopped) – 2 art.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tbsp.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Finely chop the cabbage, chop the onion and cut the carrots into strips. Cut the potatoes into cubes.
Fry the onion and carrot until soft.
Send the pearl barley to the boiling broth. After 10 minutes, add the cabbage, roast and potatoes.
Cook until the vegetables are ready and at the end add the sliced cucumbers, herbs and spices. Boil for another 5 minutes and remove from the stove.
