In the summer I try to buy blueberries a lot and often. Useful berries can be eaten not only fresh, but also harvested for the winter. My family is very fond of blueberry jam. I cook it with pectin, because the thickener greatly facilitates the process.
Ingredients
- Blueberries - 2 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Pectin - 80 g
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
- Water - 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Pick blueberries, rinse under running water and place in a saucepan.
Add water and simmer for 5 minutes.
Mash the berries with a crush or grind with an immersion blender.
Mix half of the sugar with pectin and pour it into a saucepan with blueberries. Stir and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the remaining sugar, citric acid and cook for another 5 minutes.
Arrange the hot jam in sterilized jars and roll it up.
