I pay special attention to the preparation of compotes for the winter. I try to cook a lot of them and in the assortment. Among others, I definitely cook at least a couple of jars of compote from blackthorn. It pleases with a beautiful color, slightly tart taste and wonderful aroma.
Ingredients
- Plums (thorns) – 1 kg
- Sugar - 350 g
- Citric acid - 2 g
- Water - 4 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Turn over the prunes and rinse under running water.
Place the prunes in sterilized jars, filling no more than half.
Pour boiling water, cover with lids and leave for 20 minutes.
Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid.
Boil for 3 minutes and pour the jars of prunes to the top.
Roll up, turn upside down and wrap up for a day with a warm blanket.
