An excellent preparation for fans of a popular dish. Prepare a pickle with pearl barley, close it in jars for the winter and enjoy your favorite dish whenever you want. These canned foods can be used to make soup or eat just like that.
Ingredients
- Pearl barley - 200 g
- Pickled cucumbers - 1 kg
- Carrots - 300 g
- Onion - 200 g
- Tomato paste - 3 art.l.
- Vegetable oil - 60 ml
- Vinegar - 100 ml
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Black Pepper - 5 peas
- Salt (without slide) – 1 art.l.
- Water - 500 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop cucumbers, herbs and peeled onions.
Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Fry the onion and carrot in oil until soft.
Add cucumbers, spices, salt, tomato paste and washed pearl barley. Fry everything together for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
Pour in the water, cover with a lid and simmer for 1 hour.
Add vinegar, stir and immediately remove from heat.
Spread the pickle with pearl barley in the prepared jars and roll up.
