The first ketchup recipe dates back to 1812. The worldwide popularity of the sauce has led to the fact that there are many variations on this theme. Recently I was cooking ketchup from tomatoes and apples through a meat grinder. Now this preservation takes pride of place in my pantry.

Ingredients

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the apples into quarters and peel the seeds.

Chop tomatoes and peeled onions.

Pass all the blanks through a meat grinder.

Add sugar, salt, spices and cook for 15 minutes over low heat.

Add citric acid and garlic passed through the press. Boil for another 10 minutes.

Arrange the hot ketchup into jars and roll it up.
