Falafel is the most common dish of oriental street cuisine. These are balls of crushed legumes, and most often – from chickpeas. I want to share with you a classic recipe. Cutlets can be made in any shape and size, served as a snack or added to other dishes.
Ingredients
- Chickpeas - 200 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Cilantro - 4 twigs
- Baking powder dough - 0.5 tsp.
- Turmeric - 1 pinch
- Zira - 0.5 tsp.
- Ground coriander - 0.5 tsp.
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 1 pinch
- Breadcrumbs - 4 art.l.
- Vegetable oil - 150 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Fill the chickpeas overnight with cold water, and in the morning rinse thoroughly and pass through a meat grinder. You can grind it in a blender.
In the same way, chop the onion, garlic and cilantro, and send it to the minced meat.
Add all the spices and baking powder there, mix the mass thoroughly and roll up small balls.
Roll them in small breadcrumbs and deep-fry them in a large amount of oil for literally a couple of minutes for each serving.
Put the finished falafel on paper towels.
