Pickle is one of the main filling soups in Russian cuisine. In popularity and importance, it is not inferior to cabbage soup and borscht. The basis of the homemade pickle is pickled cucumbers and cucumber pickle. Today's dish I propose to cook with pearl barley.
Ingredients
- Chicken broth - 1.5 l
- Cucumber pickle - 150 ml
- Onion - 1 piece
- Pearl barley - 100 g
- Pickled cucumbers - 4-5 pieces
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Potatoes - 3 pieces
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Bring the broth to a boil, add the pearl barley and cook until tender. 10 minutes before the end, add the potatoes.
Add the chopped carrots and onions and cook for another 10 minutes.
Pour in the brine, add cucumbers, season to taste and bring the pickle to a boil.
Remove from heat.
