Viburnum sauce for meat

Liquid seasonings from berries and fruits have recently become more and more popular. In continuation of this topic, I propose to cook a sauce of viburnum for meat. Its rich taste and bright red color will perfectly complement baked pork or duck, fried steak, chop, meatloaf.


  • Kalina - 500 g
  • Garlic - 2 clove
  • Lemon juice - 3 tbsp.l .
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Starch - 2 art.l.
  • Sugar - 3 tbsp.l.
  • Salt - 0,5 tsp.
  • Water - 150 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Mash the viburnum with a pusher and rub it through a sieve.

Mix the resulting mass with lemon juice, sugar, salt, ground pepper and garlic passed through the press.

Simmer for 2 minutes.

Mix starch with cold water and pour a thin stream into the boiling sauce, stirring continuously.

Boil everything together for 5 minutes, cool and serve.
