One of the traditional ways of making sweet and sour sauce is with pineapples. It is especially good in combination with chicken or vegetables in the Asian style. But you can use it with anything – it's quite versatile.
Ingredients
- Pineapple (canned) – 200 g
- Pineapple juice - 150 ml
- Soy sauce - 50 ml
- Ketchup - 2 tbsp.l .
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 art.l.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.l.
- Starch - 1 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Mix ketchup, half pineapple juice, soy sauce, sugar and vinegar.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
Dilute the starch in the remaining juice and pour into the sauce, stirring.
If desired, add finely chopped pineapples.
Boil the sauce for another 3 minutes.
