There are dozens and hundreds of ways to make sweet and sour sauce from a variety of ingredients. One of my favorite options is from cherry plum. Thanks to the distinct notes of Georgian cuisine, this sauce is especially well suited to meat.
Ingredients
- Cherry Plum - 700 g
- Water - 1 glass
- Starch - 1 tbsp.l .
- Sugar - 2 tbsp.l .
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 art.l.
- Salt - 0.5 tsp.
- Ground red pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- Spices and seasonings - 0.5 tsp.
- Garlic (ground) – 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Fill the cherry plum with water, boil until soft and rub through a sieve.
Add the rest of the ingredients except starch.
Boil the sauce for 10 minutes.
Dilute the starch in a couple of tablespoons of water.
Pour into the sauce, stirring, and cook for another 2 minutes.
