I try not to buy ketchup. It is not difficult to cook it yourself, especially since at the same time you can choose a balance of spices, salt and sugar to your liking. For example, I brought out for myself the perfect recipe for spicy ketchup. Its degree of burning is average.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1 kg
- Bell pepper - 200 g
- Hot red pepper - 1 pod
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Garlic - 20 g
- Lemon - half
- Olive oil - 3 tbsp.l.
- Ground coriander - 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 2 art.l.
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Water - 1 glass
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop tomatoes, peeled onion and garlic.
Cut the Bulgarian and hot pepper in half, remove the seeds and stems.
Put the blanks in a saucepan, add salt, sugar, water and cook for 15 minutes under the lid.
Rub the soft vegetables through a sieve.
Mix vegetable puree with butter and cook for 40 minutes over low heat.
Add lemon juice, sprinkle with coriander and simmer for another 5 minutes.
