Delicious Georgian tkemali can be prepared not only from plums, but also from other fruits or berries. A wonderful sauce is obtained from red currants. It just has everything you need – sweetness, sourness, bright color and aroma.
Ingredients
- Red currant - 500 g
- Water - 50 ml
- Garlic - 3 clove
- Cilantro - 20 g
- Basil - 5 g
- A mixture of peppers with peas (ground) – 1 tsp.
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Fill the currant berries with water and simmer for 7 minutes.
Rub through a sieve and add chopped garlic, herbs and all spices to taste.
Boil the tkemali for about 10-15 minutes until thickened.
