Unfortunately, it is not always possible to buy delicious herring in the store. In such cases, this recipe for herring under a fur coat helps me out. Cheese, nuts and butter perfectly hide the shortcomings of fish and complement the salad with new flavor notes.
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Processed cheese - 2 pieces
- Walnuts (dried) – 100 g
- Cheese (solid) – 80 g
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Butter (frozen) – 70 g
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Clean the herring from the skin and fins, gut it. Remove the fillets from the bones and finely chop.
Chop the nuts in a blender. Chop onion, melted cheese and boiled vegetables with a knife. Grate the hard cheese on a grater.
Lay the herring, onion and carrot in layers on a wide dish. Season with salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Lay out the melted cheese and nuts. Grate the butter on a fine grater and spread evenly over the surface. Add salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Spread out a layer of beetroot and sprinkle with hard cheese. Before serving, be sure to insist the salad for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
