There are many variants of the popular salad "Herring under a fur coat". Today I suggest experimenting with beetroot — bake it in the oven with lemon juice and pepper. A slight deviation from the usual recipe, but gives a surprisingly noticeable result.
Ingredients
- Herring (lightly salted) – 1 piece
- Beetroot - 200 g
- Potatoes - 200 g
- Carrots (average) – 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Parsley - 2 twigs
- Lemon - 3 slices
- Lemon juice - 1 art.l.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Brush the beetroot with lemon juice, rub with pepper, wrap in foil and send it to the preheated oven for 50 minutes.
Put the washed potatoes and carrots in a deep saucepan, pour cold water and boil until tender.
Chop the onion and eggs with a knife, grate the rest of the vegetables. Peel the herring, gut and cut into small pieces.
Put the herring, onion and potatoes in layers in the prepared plate. Season with salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Put the carrots and eggs next. Add salt and pepper again. Add a layer of beetroot mixed with mayonnaise on top.
Decorate the finished salad with lemon slices, herbs and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours to soak.
