This recipe will definitely appeal to pickle lovers - the usual salad "Herring under a fur coat" is prepared with sauerkraut. It can be served as a main or additional dish, as well as as an appetizer to hot drinks.
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 250 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Sauerkraut - 200 g
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel, gut and finely chop the herring. Chop onion and sauerkraut with a knife, grate eggs and other vegetables.
On a wide plate, lay out layers of herring, onions and potatoes. Season with salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Add sauerkraut, carrots and beets mixed with mayonnaise.
Decorate the salad with patterns of mayonnaise and egg crumbs. Insist for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
