If you want to have a real family dinner, prepare borscht with chicken for the first. I advise you to buy a homemade bird, yellow and well-fed. From store-bought borscht does not turn out rich, even if you cook it in meat broth.

Chop the chicken, rinse under running water and boil for 15 minutes.

Change the water, add allspice and cook for 1 hour over low heat.

Peel and chop the beets, potatoes, and onions. Chop the cabbage into small strips, grate the carrots.

Fry onions and carrots in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Add the beets and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly.

Mix tomato paste, 250 ml of hot broth and pour into a frying pan. Simmer all together for 15 minutes.

Pour potatoes, cabbage and roast into a saucepan with meat. Boil for 10 minutes after boiling.

Add salt, squeeze garlic through a press and turn it off. Insist borscht under the lid for 20 minutes.
