The classic Thai recipe is traditionally prepared with coconut milk, but you can experiment with other types. In addition, you will definitely need peeled large shrimp, chili and more aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- Shrimp - 500 g
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Chili pepper - 2 pieces
- Ginger - 2 cm
- Leek - 1 piece
- Celery - 1 piece
- Lime - 1 piece
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
- Coconut milk - 400 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Boil the shrimp in water for 5 minutes, peel and boil the shells in the same broth for another 20 minutes. Strain the broth.
Thinly slice carrots, leeks and celery. Quickly fry everything over high heat.
Add the vegetables to the broth and cook for another 10 minutes.
Chop the chili, ginger and garlic. Add to the soup and cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour in the coconut milk, bring the soup to a boil and remove from the heat.
Add back the shrimp and sprinkle the soup with lime juice to taste. You can add greens.
