Ingredients
- Herring - 1 pcs.
- Beetroot - 2 pcs.
- Potatoes (large) – 2 pcs.
- Carrots - 1 pcs.
- Bow purple - 1 pcs.
- Dill - 1 twig
- Mayonnaise - 200 g
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Bake the beets wrapped in foil in a preheated 180 °C oven for 1 hour. Then cool and peel. Cut one beetroot into very thin slices, grate the second one on a coarse grater.
Boil potatoes and carrots until tender, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Finely chop the onion, chop the dill.
Disassemble the herring, clean it, remove the bones. Cut the fillet into small cubes and mix with the onion.
To assemble the roll, start laying out the ingredients on the food film in layers, lightly tamping each layer with a spoon and smearing with mayonnaise: beet slices (lay a little overlap so that the edges of the circles come on top of each other), grated beets, carrots, potatoes. In the center, put a narrow strip of herring with onions and chopped dill. Lay out each layer a little before reaching the edges of the previous one (it will be easier to roll the roll this way).
Carefully roll the roll. Burn the edges and send them to the refrigerator in a film for several hours, or preferably overnight.
Before serving, transfer the herring roll under a fur coat to a dish, remove the food wrap and decorate at your discretion.
