Goulash is a popular Hungarian dish. You can cook it from different meats, with or without vegetables, make it thicker or vice versa — liquid like soup. Today I will share with you a simple recipe for beef goulash with gravy.
Ingredients
- Beef - 600 g
- Bell pepper - 300 g
- Carrots (large) – 1 piece
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Flour - 1 art.l.
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.l.
- Tomato sauce - 80 ml
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Allspice - 2 peas
- Black Pepper - 3 peas
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 4 glasses
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the beef, dry it and cut it into small pieces.
Peel and slice the bell peppers, onions, and carrots.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, put the beef and fry for 7-10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the onion and carrot and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
Add bell pepper, bay leaf and crushed peas of black and allspice in a mortar.
After 5 minutes, pour in hot water mixed with tomato sauce and flour. Cover with a lid and simmer for 50 minutes on low heat.
Add salt, turn off and leave for 10 minutes under the lid.
