- Cabbage (white) – 1 kg
- Dried mushrooms - 40 g
- Carrots - 2 pieces
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Vegetable oil - 80 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 1,5 glasses
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Put the mushrooms in a saucepan and pour cold water for 3 hours.
Boil the mushrooms in the same water for 20 minutes and catch them with a slotted spoon in a colander. Do not pour out the broth.
Chop the mushrooms, cabbage and peeled onion. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Heat the oil in a deep cauldron, add onions and carrots and fry until golden brown.
Add chopped mushrooms and half of the broth. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the cabbage and continue cooking under the lid for another 20 minutes. Stir the vegetables and mushrooms from time to time.
Add salt, ground pepper, the remaining broth and simmer for another 10 minutes without a lid. The liquid should evaporate completely.
