Pearl barley is equally good with sweet fruits or with vegetables and meat. Today we will prepare a variant with chicken breast and bell pepper. For convenience, I suggest baking porridge in the oven, and not wasting time looking after the frying pan.
Ingredients
- Chicken fillet - 1 piece
- Pearl barley - 1 glass
- Onion - 1 piece
- Bell pepper - 2 pieces
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Turmeric - 1 tbsp.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the pearl barley overnight or for a couple of hours. Rinse it out.
Randomly chop the chicken and vegetables, and put them in pots or in a mold with a lid.
Fill in the pearl barley, add spices and mix.
Fill with water so that it covers everything by 5-7 mm.
Cook porridge in the oven under the lid for an hour at 180 degrees.
