Let's cook pearl porridge in a slow cooker today. In the recipe I will also use chicken, celery, carrots and bell pepper. Pre-soak the cereal overnight, this will save time and improve the taste.
Ingredients
- Pearl barley - 200 g
- Chicken breasts - 300 g
- Bell pepper - 1 piece
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Celery (stems) – 150 g
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.l.
- Salt - to taste
- Chicken broth - 1 l
- Parsley (for submission) – 3 twigs
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Rinse the pearl barley and soak it in cold water overnight.
Wash the chicken breasts, dry them and cut them into small pieces.
Chop celery, parsley, carrots and peeled bell pepper.
Pour oil into the bowl of the slow cooker, turn on the "Frying" program for 20 minutes.
Pour in the chicken and fry until golden brown. Make sure that each piece is browned.
Add carrots, celery and bell pepper. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the pearl barley and salt, pour in the warm broth. Close the lid and turn on the "Porridge" mode for 45 minutes.
Put the finished pearl barley on plates and sprinkle with parsley.
