There are many recipes for stewed cabbage and among them everyone can choose an option to their liking. I like this recipe the most - it is very simple and original. And if you replace chicken broth with water, you will get a lean dish.
Ingredients
- Cabbage - 1 kg
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Flour - 1 tbsp.l
- Tomato paste - 2 art.l.
- Butter - 80 g
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Sugar - 0,5 tsp.
- Salt - to taste
- Chicken broth - 200 ml
- Dill (for submission) – 2 twigs
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel and chop the onion, grate the carrots.
Chop the cabbage, add salt and mash it slightly with your hands.
Melt the butter in a deep cauldron, add the onion and carrot and fry until golden brown.
Add cabbage, allspice and cook, stirring, 15-20 minutes.
Separately mix tomato paste, flour, chicken broth, salt and sugar.
Pour the resulting mixture into the cauldron, stir and simmer for another 10 minutes.
Insist the finished cabbage under the lid for 15 minutes. Serve in a deep dish, sprinkled with finely chopped dill.
