Soup with dumplings - can be safely called one of the most popular first courses of Ukrainian cuisine. The cooking process is very simple. Its main feature is frying in lard, which is added to both soup and dough. Try it and you will definitely like it!
Ingredients
- Potatoes - 3 pieces
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Lard (salty) – 60 g
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Parsley - 3 twigs
- Green onion - 2 stems
- Black Pepper - 2 peas
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Chicken broth - 2,5 l
- Chicken eggs - 1 piece
- Flour - 4 art.l.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 50 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel and slice potatoes and onions. Grate the carrots on a fine grater, chop the fat.
Pour the fat into a preheated frying pan and heat over low heat until fat appears.
Add the onion and carrot and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Boil the chicken broth, add potatoes, black pepper, half of the roast and cook for 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, egg, salt and ground black pepper.
Add warm water and half of the roast. Knead the dough thoroughly until smooth.
With a dessert spoon, take the dough and put it in a saucepan with boiling soup. Boil everything together for 7 minutes.
Add salt, sprinkle with chopped green onions and parsley. Turn off and insist under the lid for 20 minutes.
