Many people have known the taste of stewed cabbage since childhood. It was often prepared in school canteens, at home and in kindergarten. A simple vegetable dish perfectly quenches the appetite and does not hit the family budget at all. I share a recipe for stewed cabbage with tomato paste!
Ingredients
- Cabbage - 1 kg
- Onion - 3 pieces
- Tomato paste - 5 tbsp.l .
- Vegetable oil - 80 ml
- Dill (for decoration) – 3 twigs
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 150 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the onion from the husk and finely chop it. Chop the cabbage into strips.
In a deep cauldron, heat the vegetable oil, add the onion and fry until golden brown.
Add the cabbage and continue to fry for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a separate bowl, mix tomato paste, water and salt.
Pour the tomato liquid into the cabbage, stir, cover and cook for another 10 minutes on low heat.
Add salt, pepper and remove from heat. When serving, garnish the cabbage with fresh dill.
