Fragrant baursaki donuts according to the traditional Kazakh recipe are easy to prepare. It is based on an airy yeast dough, as a result - sweet pastries covered with icing sugar or sprinkled with powdered sugar. An appetizing treat for tea is ready!
Ingredients
- Flour - 400 g
- Milk - 0,5 glasses
- Water - 0,5 glasses
- Dry yeast - 15 g
- Sugar - 1 art.l.
- Chicken eggs - 2 pcs.
- Margarine - 40 g
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Vegetable oil (for frying) – 2 glasses
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Prepare the sourdough: to do this, mix warm milk and water in equal proportions in a bowl, enter yeast, sugar and a third of flour. Mix well and leave in the heat until a fluffy cap forms (about 20 minutes).
When the sourdough is ready, add the melted margarine, beaten egg and a pinch of salt. In small portions, enter the remaining sifted flour, knead the dough.
When the dough becomes dense enough, transfer it to a table sprinkled with flour and continue kneading with your hands for 10 minutes. Then cover the dough with a film and leave for 1 hour to rise.
After an hour, gently knead the dough, divide it into several parts. Form a sausage from each part of the dough, cut into small pieces, roll into balls. Cover the dough balls with a towel and leave for proofing for about 15 minutes.
Fry the baursaks in a large amount of hot vegetable oil until golden brown. Flip the products into a colander to remove excess fat.
Serve ready-made baursaks to the table fresh or sprinkled with powdered sugar.
