This authentic dish of Kazakh cuisine is a rare guest on our tables. The recipe for baursaki is simple, the pastry turns out to be incredibly airy and fragrant, with a slight taste of melted butter. Baursaks with powdered sugar are good for tea, unleavened - they can easily replace bread.
Ingredients
- Flour - 600 g
- Milk - 50 ml
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.l .
- Chicken eggs - 5 pcs.
- Salt - pinch
- Ghee - 1 tbsp.l.
- Vegetable oil (for frying) – 1 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Combine eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
Gradually add the sifted flour to the egg-butter mixture, knead a slightly sticky dough. Cover the finished dough with cling film and leave for 30 minutes.
When the dough has rested, sprinkle the table with flour, lay out the dough and knead again. Divide the dough into small pieces, roll each into a sausage and cut into small circles or squares.
Fry the baursaks in a large amount of preheated vegetable oil until golden brown.
Put the finished products on paper towels to get rid of excess fat. Serve the baursaks to the table, laying out a slide on a platter.
