There are dozens of different ways to roll up red currants for the winter, and today I propose to make compote from it. For this recipe, it is better to get rid of the twigs while you are washing and sorting the berries. And then I'll tell you more!

Ingredients

  • Red Currant - 1 kg
  • Sugar - 1 glass
  • Water - 2 l
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.l .

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash the red currants, cut off the twigs and put them in sterile jars.

Cover with sugar, pour boiling water and leave for 10 minutes under the lid.

Drain the syrup, add lemon juice, boil it again and pour the currants again.

Roll up the compote for the winter.
