Do you like to have a long tea with sweets in winter? Then you definitely need to make delicious gooseberry jam with walnuts! It can be smeared on crackers, crispy toast and served as a dessert. I share a proven recipe.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 2 kg
- Walnuts - 300 g
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Pick the gooseberries, rinse and put them in a saucepan with a thick bottom.
Cover the berries with sugar, cover with a lid and leave for 3 hours.
Dry the walnuts in a frying pan for a couple of minutes, peel off the husks and chop lightly.
Put a saucepan with gooseberries on a slow fire and boil for 5 minutes.
Add nuts, citric acid and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Put the hot jam in clean, dry jars, roll it up, turn it upside down and wrap it with a warm blanket for a day.
