Did you know that apple juice is an excellent natural preservative? Today I want to share a recipe for canned tomatoes with such an unusual marinade. This recipe is a godsend for those who do not like to use vinegar for winter preparations.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1 kg
- Apple juice (natural) – 1 l
- Salt - 2 tbsp.l .
- Sugar - 2 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the tomatoes and dry them slightly. Pierce each tomato in several places with a toothpick.
Fill pre-sterilized jars with prepared tomatoes.
Boil water and pour boiling water over tomatoes in jars, cover the jars with sterile lids and leave for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water - we won't need it anymore.
Add salt and sugar to the jars of tomatoes.
Boil the apple juice over medium heat and pour it over the tomatoes in jars. Roll up the jars, turn upside down and cool at room temperature. Store the cooled workpiece in a cool, dark place.
