To roll up berry compote for the winter, you don't need almost anything. Only the berries themselves, and in our case it's gooseberries, sugar and water. And the main thing here is to thoroughly sterilize the jars with lids, and then everything will be worth it until spring without any problems.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1.5 kg
- Water - 2 l
- Sugar - 2 glasses
- Vanilla pod - 1 piece
- Citric acid - 1 pinch
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Rinse the gooseberries and put them in sterile jars.
Pour boiling water, leave for 5-7 minutes and drain the water into a saucepan.
Boil it again and pour the gooseberries again for 5 minutes.
Drain again, add sugar and a sliced vanilla pod, boil the syrup for 5 minutes and strain.
Pour gooseberry syrup, add citric acid and roll up the jars.
