Chokeberry sauce is so versatile that it is ideal for meat, poultry and fish dishes. Prepare such a spicy sauce according to my simple recipe in the berry picking season. From these ingredients, I get a little more than a liter of ready-made sauce.
Ingredients
- Chokeberry - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 glass
- Salt - 2 tbsp.l .
- Garlic - 2 heads
- Hot red pepper - 1 pod
- Hop-suneli - 1 tbsp.l.
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- Vinegar (9%) – 3 art.l.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Ground red pepper - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Go through the berries of the chokeberry, rinse and discard in a colander. Pass the dried berries through a meat grinder.
Peel the garlic. Remove the seeds from the hot pepper, cut the pod into pieces.
Also pass the prepared garlic and hot pepper through a meat grinder, combine with the berry mass.
Add sugar, salt and other spices according to the list, as well as 9% vinegar. Mix well until the salt and sugar dissolve.
Put the ready-made blueberry sauce in pre-sterilized jars, roll up. Be sure to keep jars of sauce in the refrigerator, but not more than six months.
