Cans of this delicious drink will be among the first to disperse in winter. Red currant compote has a wonderful taste and rich aroma, and orange creates a pleasant citrus aftertaste. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.
Ingredients
- Red Currant - 600 g
- Water - 2,7 l
- Sugar - 250 g
- Orange - 1/4 pcs.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort the currants, carefully remove them from the twigs, rinse under running water and throw them into a colander.
Rinse the orange well and cut into slices together with the peel.
Place the prepared currant and orange in a pre-sterilized jar.
Boil water, pour boiling water over the contents of the jar. Cover the jar with a sterile lid and leave to warm up for 15-20 minutes.
Then drain the liquid from the jar into a saucepan, add sugar, stir, bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce the heat and boil the syrup for 3 minutes.
Pour boiling syrup over currants and oranges in a jar and roll up. Turn the jar upside down, wrap it up and leave it to cool completely.
