Strawberry jam is, without exaggeration, the favorite delicacy of all sweet tooths. There are many ways to prepare this fragrant treat. I will share with you the simplest and most beloved, time-tested - this is how my grandmother cooked strawberry jam.
Ingredients
- Strawberries - 1 kg
- Sugar - 700 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Pick strawberries, remove the tails, rinse the berries under running water.
Put the strawberries in a cooking bowl and pour sugar in layers: a layer of strawberries, a layer of sugar, etc. Leave the workpiece for a few hours to form juice.
Bring the billet to a boil over low heat and, stirring, boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the jam to cool completely.
Then repeat the procedure as many times as necessary to obtain the desired consistency of strawberry jam. With each cooking, the delicacy will become thicker and change color to a darker one.
After the last cooking, pack the boiling jam into pre-sterilized jars, seal tightly and cool. Store strawberry jam in a cool, dark place.
