If you prefer more spicy and sharp blanks, a simple and affordable horseradish root will repeatedly help you out. For some reason, many still underestimate its advantages. This time I want to share my favorite family recipe for pickled cabbage with horseradish.
Ingredients
- Cabbage - 2 kg
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Horseradish Root - 1-2 pieces
- Water - 1 l
- Vinegar - 30 ml
- Allspice - 1 tsp.
- Salt - 1 art.l.
- Sugar - 2 art.l.
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Coriander - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop the cabbage and mash it with your hands.
Grate carrots and horseradish, mix with cabbage and place tightly in sterilized jars. Add spices if desired.
Boil the water with all the remaining ingredients.
Pour the marinade over the cabbage and sterilize for 10 minutes.
Roll up the jars for the winter.
