Germans know a lot about pickles. What is their popular sauerkraut worth! Continuing this topic, I offer an excellent recipe for pickled cucumbers in German. They are prepared with sterilization, although a little differently than we are used to.
Ingredients
- Cucumbers - 2 kg
- Garlic - half a head
- Dill - 3 umbrella
- Currant leaves - 4 pieces
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- A mixture of peppers with peas - 0,5 tsp.
- Vinegar - 100 ml
- Sugar - 60 g
- Salt - 60 g
- Water - 1,8 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Place dill umbrellas, currant leaves, spices and coarsely chopped garlic cloves in jars.
Tamp the cucumbers tightly, trying to leave fewer voids in the jars.
Add sugar and salt.
Pour vinegar, warm water and sterilize for 15 minutes.
Carefully remove the jars from the sterilization bath and roll them up.
