Ingredients
- Cabbage - 1 kg
- Carrots - 1 pcs.
- Bell pepper - 1 pcs.
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Water - 2 l
- Vinegar (9%) – 200 ml
- Salt - 4 art.l.
- Sugar - 1 glass
- Ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp.
- Allspice (polka dots) – 10 pcs.
- Bay leaf - 6 pcs.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop the cabbage. Peel the carrots and grate them on a Korean carrot grater. Peel the Bulgarian pepper from the seeds and stalks, cut into thin strips. Peel the garlic and cut it into thin plates.
In an enameled saucepan, mix the prepared vegetables, add allspice and ground pepper. Mix well.
For the marinade, combine water, salt and sugar in a saucepan, bring to a boil, add vinegar and bay leaf. Boil the marinade for 3 minutes, remove from the heat and immediately pour it over the prepared cabbage.
Cover the pot with the blank lid and leave at room temperature for 2 hours. In principle, after 2 hours, pickled cabbage can be served to the table!
Squeeze the cabbage a little from the marinade and place it in clean jars, close with nylon lids and send it to the refrigerator for storage. The instant cabbage pickled according to this recipe is stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
