Did you know that your favorite borscht dressing can be prepared in advance and stored all winter? The dressing according to this recipe differs not only in its taste, but also in its rich red color thanks to beetroot and tomato paste. It is easy to prepare it, and then use it for its intended purpose.
Ingredients
- Beetroot - 1.5 kg
- Bell pepper - 1 kg
- Carrots - 1 kg
- Onion - 1 kg
- Hot red pepper - 1 piece
- Tomato paste - 400 ml
- Vegetable oil - 500 ml
- Vinegar - 10 art.l.
- Sugar - 10 tbsp.l.
- Garlic - 100 g
- Salt - 2 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Grate the carrots and beets. Finely chop the onion and pepper.
Add the tomato and oil, bring the vegetables to a boil and simmer for 50 minutes under the lid.
Add chopped garlic, hot pepper, sugar, vinegar and salt. Simmer for another 20 minutes.
Roll up the filling in sterile jars.
