Bright and fragrant canned red currant compote is not only a wonderful tonic drink, but also the basis for delicious berry jelly. Compote will take its rightful place at any festive feast, it will appeal to both children and adults.

Ingredients

  • Red Currant - 300 g
  • Water - 2,8 l
  • Sugar - 150 g
  • Citric acid - 1 tsp.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Sort the currant, rinse under running water, carefully remove from the twigs.

Pour the berries into a pre-sterilized jar.

Combine sugar and citric acid in a saucepan, add water and boil the syrup over high heat for 3 minutes after boiling.

Pour boiling syrup over the berries in a jar and roll up. Turn the jar upside down, wrap it up and leave it to cool completely. Store the cooled red currant compote in a cool, dark place.
