It's only at first glance that such a cabbage salad seems completely inconspicuous. In fact, thanks to spices and fragrant herbs, its taste is revealed in a completely new way. Be sure to try to cook at least a couple of jars!
Ingredients
- Cabbage - 1,5 kg
- Salt - 1,5 art.l.
- Water - 700 ml
- Sugar - 2,5 tbsp.l .
- Carnation - 2 pieces
- Provencal herbs - 1 tbsp.l.
- Basil (dried) – 1 art.l.
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Black Pepper - 3 peas
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Vinegar - 1,5 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Thinly chop the cabbage, add salt and slightly mash with your hands.
Add the herbs of Provence and basil to it, and mix. You can add finely chopped greens.
Add bay leaf, cloves, peppercorns and sugar to the water, and bring to a boil.
Boil the marinade for 2 minutes, pour in the vinegar and remove from the heat.
Thoroughly tamp the cabbage into sterilized jars, pour hot marinade and roll up.
