I spend a lot of time canning sauces. I try to prepare them in such quantity that it will be enough until the next harvest. In addition to the standard ketchup, I cook tomato sauce with apples. I like the combination of sweet tomatoes and fruit sourness.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1 kg
- Apples - 1 kg
- Hot red pepper (moderate severity) – half a string
- Garlic - 30 g
- Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
- Paprika - 0,5 tsp.
- Vinegar - 2 tbsp.l.
- Sugar - 60 g
- Salt - 40 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop tomatoes and apples peeled from seeds.
Chop the hot pepper and garlic in a blender.
Mix everything in a saucepan with a thick bottom.
Add salt, sugar and leave for 1.5-2 hours.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Puree with an immersion blender until smooth.
Add the spices and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Add vinegar, mix and close in prepared jars.
