For the first time I tried to cook pea soup puree last year on the advice of a friend. The dish was so loved by our family that we started a tradition to cook it every Friday. Sometimes I add ham, sometimes sausages or pre-boiled meat.
Ingredients
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the washed peas in cold water for 2 hours.
Put the peas in a colander, rinse again and pour into a saucepan with boiling broth. Cook for 1.5 hours over low heat.
Chop the ham, onion and potatoes. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Fry onions and carrots in butter until golden brown.
In a saucepan with peas, add potatoes and roast. Boil everything together for 10 minutes. Select a couple of spoons of peas for serving.
Remove the soup from the heat, cool for a couple of minutes and chop with an immersion blender.
Return the pan to the heat. Add salt and ground pepper. Warm it up for another 2-3 minutes and turn it off.
When serving, add a little boiled peas, ham and herbs to the plate.
