If you want to have a delicious and healthy sweet snack on hand, I advise candied black mountain ash. The preparation is quite simple, and the result is fragrant and sweet pieces that can be added to porridges, pastries or simply served for dessert.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Pick a rowan tree, fill it with water and leave it for 2 days. Change the water twice a day.

Boil the syrup from 250 ml of water and sugar.

Put the berries in the syrup and cook for an hour on low heat.

At the end, add citric acid and vanillin.

Flip the rowan into a colander and place in one layer on flat dishes or on another surface.

Leave the candied fruits to dry for a day.

Mix them with sugar and store them in a dry closed jar.
