My grandmother cooked gooseberry jam in large pots, and the wonderful aroma was in the air all day. Years have passed and now I am engaged in conservation. However, I have slightly modified the recipe, I like to make jam from red gooseberries with orange.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry (red) – 3 kg
- Orange - 1 kg
- Sugar - 2 kg
- Citric acid - 2 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort the gooseberries, clean them from dry tails and rinse.
Scald oranges with boiling water, peel, white films and disassemble into slices.
Pass both blanks through a meat grinder or grind in a blender.
Rub the resulting mass through a sieve to get rid of the seeds and peel.
Add sugar, citric acid and simmer for 10 minutes.
Put the hot jam in clean, dry jars, roll it up and wrap it with a warm blanket for a day.
