What could be better than a fragrant homemade compote? It will cheer you up on a gloomy winter day and will please you with a pleasant taste. There are many recipes for this wonderful drink. Today I propose to prepare a compote of red currant with orange and mint.

Ingredients

  • Red Currant - 500 g
  • Orange (medium) – 3 pieces
  • Mint - 50 g
  • Sugar - 250 g
  • Citric acid - at the tip of the knife
  • Water (filtered) – 6 l

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Scald the oranges with boiling water and cut them together with the peel.

Rinse the red currant and mint under running water.

Place oranges, mint and red currants in sterilized jars, taking up no more than half the volume.

Pour boiling water to the top, cover with lids and leave for 30 minutes.

Drain the water into a saucepan and boil for 3 minutes.

Pour sugar and citric acid into the jars.

Pour boiling water, roll up and turn upside down.
