Don't forget to stock up on delicious sauces for the winter during the season. In addition to the usual recipes, be sure to try this one. An unusual sauce for meat is made from white currants. Some cooks add a little grated almonds, but I like it that way.
Ingredients
- White currant - 1 kg
- Wine (white) – 100 ml
- Sugar - 50 g
- Nutmeg - 0,5 tsp.
- Salt - 1 art.l.
- Water (boiled) – 180 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Remove the white currants from the twigs, put them in a colander and rinse under running water.
Put the berries in a small saucepan, cover with sugar and leave for 1 hour at room temperature.
Pour in water and simmer the currants for 10 minutes.
Rub the mass through a sieve using a wooden spoon.
Mix the resulting puree with wine, salt and nutmeg.
Boil over low heat for 15 minutes, place in sterilized jars and roll up.
