After the first frosts, mountain ash loses its bitterness and becomes sweet. Use this advice when you pick berries. And I also recommend making jam from apples and red mountain ash. A very successful combination of flavors and aromas!
Ingredients
- Apples - 2 kg
- Mountain Ash (red) – 1 kg
- Sugar - 2 kg
- Citric acid - 2 g
- Water - 250 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the apples into quarters, peel the seeds and chop.
Boil water, add sugar and boil for 5 minutes.
Add rowan berries, chopped apples and simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and set aside for 2 hours.
Put the pan on the stove and cook for another 20 minutes. Set aside again, cover and cool.
After 2 hours, bring the mass to a boil for the third time. Add citric acid, boil for 3-5 minutes and roll up.
